The super hero status of Boxer Brief Man ended early Friday morning by the San Angelo Police Department.
On Jan. 3 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Patrol Officer E. Tabone was dispatched to the 2000 block of North Bryant for a suspicious person running in a parking lot wearing only boxer briefs. Officer Tabone located a subject matching the description in the 2300 block of North Bryant Blvd running in the roadway.
Officer Tabone attempted to stop the subject by activating his emergency lights and following the Boxer Brief Man. When the subject observed Officer Tabone he continued to run away, entering and exiting the roadway.
The subject eventually entered a parking lot and Officer Tabone exited his patrol car to detain him. The subject attempted to run back out into the roadway but Officer Tabone was able to grab a hold of the subject before he ran in front of an oncoming car.
At that time the subject attempted to get away from Officer Tabone and began to fight and resist. Officer C. DeLaCruz, Officer R. Cercone and Officer C. Pruit arrived on scene to assist. The subject appeared to be intoxicated from an unknown drug and he resisted all of them for several minutes before he could be placed in handcuffs.
The subject, Francisco Lopez (DOB: 6/19/1976) was taken to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, and evading on foot.
