The San Angelo Convention & Visitors Bureau, is proud to announce that its Director of Sales & Servicing, Jenni Campbell, has completed the requirements to earn her Certified Sports Event Executive (CSEE) credential from the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC).
Campbell is instrumental in bringing the annual drag boat races to San Angelo, dubbed "Showdown the San Angelo" every year.
Since its inception in 2002, the CSEE program has been the only certification available for experienced sports event professionals seeking continuing education and professional development in the field of sport tourism. To earn the designation, participants must complete eight four-hour courses focused on the topics of strategic planning, sales and marketing, sports event management, the bid process and more.
“Jenni has worked diligently over the past six years to earn this designation She joins an elite group of NASC members and should be commended for her dedication to the sport tourism industry,“ said Don Schumacher, executive director of the NASC.
To date, some 180 sport tourism professionals have achieved the CSEE designation, with more than 500 participants currently enrolled in the program.
The National Association of Sports Commissions is the only non-profit 501(c)3 trade association for the sport tourism industry, the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC) is the most trusted resource for sports commissions, destination marketing organizations (DMOs), vendors, and sports event owners.
