Christian Garcia, an Angelo State University junior pursuing a double major in accounting and finance, has been offered a prestigious summer internship at the Goldman Sachs office in Dallas. Through a separate application, the San Angelo native and Central High School graduate also was awarded a $15,000 Scholarship for Excellence from Goldman Sachs.
A member of ASU’s Honors Program, Garcia first applied for and was accepted to Goldman Sachs Diversity Day, a highly competitive “camp” for undergraduates that also serves as a fast track into the internship program.
The 10-week paid internship also includes travel costs and a stipend for housing.
A regular on the ASU Dean’s List, Garcia is president of ASU’s chapter of the Alpha Chi national honor society and the Financial Investments Organization student group. He is also a member of the Student Government Association, Honors Students Association and Who’s Who Among Students at American Universities and Colleges.
The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of financial services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and individuals.
