The annual School of the Victorian Ladies will embrace the “Home on the Range, Ranching Heritage Life Before and After the Indian Wars” theme at Fort Concho on March 11-13.
The event is open to the public, but the staff want’s the event to be directed at current and future living history volunteers.

Lasting Friday through Sunday, the sessions will cover food, clothing, social customs, and the general life and times of women on the frontier.
The Saturday, March 12, session from 10:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m. by author Julia Robb is open to the public at no charge at the Fort’s Officers’ Quarters 2 on East Avenue D. Robb is a West Texas native who will speak of her recent books, including “The Captive Boy,” a story about a white child who is captured by Comanches and later recovered by the U.S. Cavalry.
Frontier Women’s Living History Association has hosted this conference at Fort Conch for several years. The program is dedicated to preserving the history of the frontier by hosting different interactive activities. The attendees have participated in living history events across Texas and the Southwest.
