For San Angeloans interested in history, San Antonio will be hosting Remembering the Alamo with 13 days of interactive living history programs and special evens to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the siege and battle of the Alamo.
There will be daily activities and special events for the family, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., reenactors will read a daily overview of events including letters and historic speeches from those who were there in 1836. These readings will take place in front of the Alamo Church. Additionally, Living History demonstrations will take place on the grounds from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
These special events include:
- Feb. 24, 2016 - Ride For Texas Independence (events start at 10 a.m.)
- Feb. 27, 2016 - "The Alamo" Movie Night (starts at 6:30 p.m.)
- Mar. 4, 2016 - An Evening with Heroes (starts at 6:30 p.m. - tickets required)
- Mar. 5, 2016 - 3rd Annual Crockett Fiddler's Fest (performances start at 10 a.m.)
- Mar. 6, 2016 - Dusk at the Alamo (starts at 6 p.m.)
