Deen Dickson Announces Candidacy for Constable

“Today I want to announce that I am running for re-election for Constable Tom Green County Precinct 2.” Deen Dickson, Constable, announced upon the steps of the Tom Green County Courthouse yesterday evening. He was accompanied by his wife, Denise, and Bonnie B., treasurer and family.

Dickson said his experience stems from 22 years with the San Angelo Police Department, and he has served as Constable for 10 years.

“I want to continue my service to Tom Green County and the citizens of Precinct 2.” Dickson stated “I’ve been in Law Enforcement for 32 years and I have over 2600 hours in law enforcement training. I hold a master certificate from the state of Texas, and I also take pride in that I am third generation law enforcement in my family. I believe I am fully qualified to hold the office of constable, and I look forward to your support in the Republican primary on March 1, 2016."

Dickson emphasized that he's a Republican and will always be one.

Dusty Thompson is his opponent in the run for Tom Green County Constable this year, which is the first year in Dickson’s career that he has had an opponent.

“I was appointed in 2005 and then I ran for the unexpired term for Constable Dick Brock, who was constable at the time. After that, I have run and no one has run against me,” Dickson explained.

Dickson has lived in Tom Green County for 36 years and graduated from Wall High School. The characteristics in which Dickson believes that will aid him in obtaining Constable again for another consecutive year are his 32 years in law enforcement, training and service to the city of San Angelo, Tom Green County and his community.

"I love doing what I do, and I’m not ready to stop," Dickson stated in closing. "I want to continue serving and working with the people. I want to continue to be your constable for Precinct 2. I’ve done it for 10 years, and public service is what I like to do. I love the people, and I love this county. I just want to continue doing that.”

Dickson's endorsements currently include the San Angelo Police Officers Political Action Committee, Sheriff David Jones, Constables Randy Harris and James Smith, Commissioner Aubrey de Cordova, Commissioner Bill Ford, and Commissioner Rick Bacon.
