This afternoon San Angelo Police closed down the area of Main and 6th Streets for over an hour after a four-car crash.

According to an SAPD official, four vehicles were on the frontage road at approximately 2:50 p.m. The driver of a maroon van was slowing down, and a brown car behind it also slowed down. A pickup, however, hit the brown car from behind, and another SUV hit the pickup after that.

“So there’s two violations out of that, the pickup and the SUV,” stated the official.

The officer said no one was taken to the hospital since all drivers and the two passengers in the brown car declined treatment.

The two drivers of the pickup and SUV received citations for failure to control speed.
