U.S. Custom Officers Seize More Than 95 Pounds of Liquid Methamphetamine

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry recently discovered a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine in a vehicle coming from Mexico, stated a press release Wednesday.

According to the release, on Dec. 18, CBP officers working at Eagle Pass International Bridge I encountered a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by a 20-year-old Houston woman, as it arrived in the U.S. from Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico.

During an inspection, officers searched the trunk to find two boxes containing a total of 15 bottles. The bottles contained alleged methamphetamine, weighing a total of 95.8 pounds. CBP officers also recovered .29 grams of alleged cocaine from a 19-year-old Houston man who was a passenger in the vehicle.

Both subjects were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for federal prosecution.
