The Four Most Interesting Court Indictments for the Month of December

 

This month, 104 court cases are scheduled for the month of December. Out of those cases, 80 are felony filed by indictment. Some interesting cases to be heard include the following:

Attempted Arson

A 36-year-old man attempted to set fire or cause an explosion to his ex-girlfriends home and has been charged with a second degree felony. Jim Bob Flanagan's court date is scheduled for Dec. 16, 2015 at 2 p.m. According to court records, this isn’t his first offense and has a tract record dating back to May of 2003, which consists of terroristic acts, stalking, harassment, possession, aggravated assault and burglary. Attempted arson has now been placed on the list.

Gang Drive by Shooting

On June 17, 2015 authorities responded to a drive-by shooting, which was later discovered to be an internal dispute between two gang members of the West Texas criminal street gang. Paul Montez, 26, has been previously convicted of a felony offense of obstruction or retaliation and has obtained possession of a firearm before his release from community supervision. Paul used this firearm to fire against Eddie Hernandez at his home while his girlfriend, Calley Buckles, drove past the house. The shooting was in relation to a fight that included Paul four days earlier where Eddie did not come to the aid of Paul.

Paul has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony enhanced to first degree felony and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third degree felony. He is scheduled to have a trial by jury on March 21, 2016 at 9 a.m.

Organized Crime

Theresa Jackson, 53, has been charged with a first-degree felony for carrying and conspiring to commit a delivery of over 400 grams of cocaine with Freddrick Lewis, Tyrell Lewis and Olivia Wilson. This organized crime was stated to have had occurred during the duration of May 2010 through March 2011; however, Theresa was arrested by the San Angelo Police Department on Oct. 23, 2015 for this charge and four others as well.

Theresa is currently in jail and has submitted a plea of guilty with a sentence of 8 years which was submitted on Dec. 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m.

Injury to Child

A 5-year-old girl was assaulted by Mary Chavarin Mireles, 40, who has been charged with a third degree felony for injury to child/intentional bodily injury. The child was pulled by her hair and wrist and drug across the ground, and then pulled up by her hair again to stand her upright on her feet.

Mary has been arrested and is currently waiting court date in TGCJ. There is a court date set for Dec. 30, 2015 at 8:30 a.m.
