According to the San Angelo Police Department and other arresting agencies, the holidays are notorious for high robbery rates, especially auto theft and burglary.
Unfortunately, for one U.S. veteran resident, he was a victim to this trend.
Dennis Stafford has been living at his home in the Howard/Glenna area since March of 2015. “I have never had any problems,” he stated. Well, until now.
Stafford said he left his home this past Saturday at approximately 7 p.m., returned for a moment on Sunday morning and left again. When he returned Monday at approximately 11 a.m., that is when he noticed that several items in his home were missing. The front door was not locked, nor was it closed all the way; however, there were no signs of forced entry.
“It sucks because I am a military veteran and I work hard for my stuff,” Stafford stated.
The items that were taken from his home include the following:
47” Sony flatscreen TV
13” LCD Shark TV
Black Pioneer refrigerator
Hot Point front load dryer
Socket set
Dolly
Stafford said he did file a police report with the San Angelo Police Department, but he's hoping someone may have seen or heard something. If so, he's asking for them to please contact the San Angelo Police Department. Additionally, this is a reminder for area residents to continue to follow the suggestion of local law enforcement, and that's to lock homes, windows, vehicles and avoid keeping gifts in an area easily accessed by thieves.
