Christmas at Old Fort Concho Announces Art Contest Winners

 

This year, many talented young artists submit their pieces to the Christmas at Old Fort Concho Art Contest. There were over 230 admissions from 6th grade to 12th grade from over ten area wide schools, according to contest coordinator Evelyn Lemons. She stated that the judges had their work cut out for them, and the judging this year was extremely close in all age groups.The following winners are listed in order of grade and place:

6-8th Grade:

  • 1st – Tatum Schwaighofer, Making the Yuletide Gay, 6th grade, Irion County ISD
  • 2nd – Jayden Galvan, Snowmen Love Snow, 7th grade, Winters Junior High
  • 3rd – Dayvin Oats, Rudolph with His Big Red Nose, 6th grade, Winters Junior High

Honorable Mentions:

  • Grace Wilde, A Blue and Red Christmas, 6th grade, Wall Middle School
  • Jaron Garcia, The Night Before Christmas, 7th grade, Winters Junior High
  • Froylan Labra, Christmas Night, 6th grade, Wall Middle School
  • Oly E. Limon, New Beginning, 6th grade, Junction ISD
  • Fernando Sanchez, Reindeer Christmas, 8th grade, Lincoln Junior High

9-10th Grade:

  • 1st – Julia White, Coming Home, 10th grade, Central High School
  • 2nd – Vivian Kelley, The Trinity, 9th grade, Central Freshman Campus
  • 3rd – Kenzee Smith, Believe in the Magic of Santa, 10th grade, Wall High School

Honorable Mentions:

  • Grayson Bannowsky, The Hour Before Christmas, 10th grade, Junction High School
  • Jaden Rector, A Naughty Christmas Night, 10th grade, TLCA
  • Zane Huebner, Christmas Day, 10th grade, Wall High School

 11-12th Grade:

  • 1st – Kyla Reid, Blanco Invierno Caballo, 11th grade, Wall High School
  • 2nd –Alexis Godwin, A Winter’s Travel, 12th grade, TLCA
  • 3rd –Rachel Key, A Sister is the Best Gift of All, 12th grade, Wall High School
