The local Elk's Lodge is seeking San Angelo area high school seniors applicants for college scholarships.
Local winners will advance to the district level, and those winners will advance to the state level. State winners will advance to the national level, where the winner will receive a $50,000 scholarship to pursue a 4 year degree. Other finalists will receive lessor amounts of scholarship monies. The total scholarships awarded will be more than $2.4 million.
The deadline for this year’s Elks National Foundation scholarships is Dec. 4, 2015. Applications are due to the local Elks Lodge by Dec. 4 at rge lodge, 2121 S Chadbourne. You can download the application at http://www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mv…
Applicants must be a high school senior, and must be a citizen of the United States. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
Another Elks scholarship is the 2016 Texas Elks State Association Scholarship: Six (6) scholarships will be awarded to three male and three female high school graduates from the 2016 graduating classes of Texas high schools. Each award will be in the amount of $1,250.00 per year for the 2016-2020 academic years, for a total of $5,000.00 per award. The application is due to the local Elks Lodge by 4 March, 2016.
Other Texas Elks State Association scholarships that are available include: Teenager of the Year Scholarship; TESA Vocational Grant Award; Eagle Scout Scholarship; Girl Scout Gold Award Scholarship.
