Multicultural Center at Angelo State University hosts Native American Heritage Celebration

The Native American Heritage Celebration at Angelo State University will take place in the lobby of the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive, on Tuesday November 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The celebration is free to the public and will include activities such as Native American crafts, music, artifacts and traditional food.

The Boy Scouts of America established Native American Heritage Month in 1915 after trying to launch a national day to recognize the “First Americans.” November was designated as National American Indian Heritage Month after approval of President George H.W. Bush. Since 1994, similar proclamations have been issued under variants of the name.
