A 14-year-old boy was stabbed on Wednesday afternoon on board a Brady school bus following an altercation with another student while the bus made its after-school rounds.
Brady police, fire, EMS and sheriff's deputies responded to the scene at approximately 3:48 p.m., where they found the male student with a single puncture wound to the upper left chest area. Due to the nature of the injury, the student was immediately loaded into an ambulance and transported to Curtis Air Field, then flown to Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. The extent of his injuries and current condition is unknown.
According to McCulloch County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Ty Tully, a 16-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and transported to the sheriff's office, where he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was later released to juvenile probation.
The stabbing is being investigated by the McCulloch County Sheriff's Office, and no further information is available at this time.
