2 Angelo State Football Players Named All-Americans

 

WACO, TX —  Two Angelo State football players received national recognition Wednesday as Xavier Walton and Owen Seaver were named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America teams.

Walton, a junior majoring in kinesiology, was selected to the first team. He recently was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Back of the Year after finishing among the nation's leaders in interceptions. His six interceptions led both the conference and the South Central Region.

A native of San Antonio, Walton totaled 61 tackles, including four for loss, one sack and 15 pass breakups.

Seaver, a graduate student majoring in finance, earned second-team All-American honors. He recorded 50 tackles, including a conference-leading 17 for loss, and added 7.5 sacks, which ranked third in the Lone Star Conference.

The Lampasas High School product was also named to the conference's first team.
