San Angelo Man Arrested for Continuous Abuse of Child

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man has been arrested after he was charged with continuously sexually abusing a child 10 years ago.

Danny Porter, 56, was arrested by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, Dec. 4, for continuous sex abuse of a child under 14.

According to court documents, on Aug. 21, 2025, the investigator attended a forensic interview of the child at the Hope House, which is part of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas. During the interview, the child said that Porter had touched them inappropriately, and that Porter made them touch him on numerous occasions. The abuse occurred while the child was 8 and 9.

The child stated that the touching happened through their clothes, namely when they were wearing tights, which made the child uncomfortable. The child also said that they touched Porter over his clothes.

The child said the touching occurred when they would sit on Porter’s lap.

All the alleged abuse happened at Porter’s place of work, and it only happened when Porter and the child were alone in the office.

One time, another employee walked into the office and saw the child sitting on Porter’s lap. When that employee was interviewed, he stated that it was not unusual for the child to be sitting there. The owners of the business spoke with the investigator and confirmed Porter was an employee.

The affidavit states that Porter abused the child from on or about March 15, 2014, through June 1, 2015.

Porter was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail with a bond set at $50,000.
