SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo teenager has been arrested for threatening to kill a woman in the Wingstop parking lot.
Malik Johnson, 18, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
According to court documents, on Dec. 2, 2025, an investigator read a report regarding an aggravated assault with a handgun. The victim told the investigator that she and her boyfriend were at Wingstop, 614 W. 29th St., to grab some food. The victim got out of her vehicle to go inside and order, and when she exited the restaurant, she saw her boyfriend arguing with a group of people in another vehicle.
The victim approached the group to calm everything down until a light-skinned black male with dreadlocks exited the vehicle and waved a black handgun in her direction. He then threatened her by stating that he will “just kill all of you.” She also noted that none of the other occupants in the vehicle had dreadlocks.
The victim believed that the male, identified as Malik Johnson, was about to kill her and her boyfriend. Johnson got back into his vehicle and left the scene, but not before the victim was able to collect the license plate number. She called the emergency dispatch and relayed the license plate and also gave a description of Johnson’s vehicle.
An officer told the investigator that as he was approaching the scene, he observed a vehicle that matched the description given by the victim and conducted a traffic stop at AFCO Steel, 820 W. 29th St.
The officer detained Johnson and, when searching the vehicle, discovered a black handgun on the back floorboard. The officer also said that Johnson was the only individual in the vehicle with dreadlocks.
Then, the officer took the victim by the traffic stop, where she identified Johnson as the one who threatened to kill her.
When Johnson was interviewed, he admitted an argument took place between him and the victim in the Wingstop parking lot but claimed that at no time did he get out of his vehicle with the handgun and threaten her.
Johnson was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail. His bond was set at $55,000.
