According to records, the assault occurred on July 30, 2011; Torres pled guilty 13 months later on Aug. 27, 2012 and was sentenced to six years deferred adjudication probation.
In March 2014, Torres had a hearing on a motion to revoke (MTR) probation; however, at that time, the terms were amended and his probation was continued. The state filed another MTR in October. Torres has not yet had a hearing on that MTR, but could face two to 20 years in prison if convicted.
In addition to Torres, 16 others were put behind bars on Wednesday, including one charged with theft, one charged with assault, one charged with possession and two charged with burglary.
Twenty-four inmates were released on Wednesday.
