SAN ANGELO, TX — The Central Bobcats will take on the No. 1-ranked team in the state, Southlake Carroll, at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Art Briles Stadium in Stephenville.
Central advanced to the Class 6A Division II area-round matchup with a 24-14 win Thursday over El Paso Pebble Hills.
It was the Bobcats’ first playoff win since 2020, punctuating a remarkable turnaround from a one-win season just two years ago to an 8-3 record this year.
Central will carry a four-game winning streak into next week.
Carroll is a perfect 11-0 and coming off a 35-0 win over Crowley in its playoff opener Thursday. The Dragons are one of the most successful football programs in Texas history with eight state titles, but they haven’t won it all since 2011.
