IDALOU, TX — The No. 2-ranked Wall Hawks were seriously tested for the first time this season before holding on for a 35-21 win on the road over Idalou on Friday.

The Wildcats are also a team Wall could see again down the road in the playoffs.
Wall quarterback Landon York threw for 307 yards and two TDs on 19-of-29 passing with one interception.
Reid Robertson had five catches for 123 yards and a TD, while Kellan Oliver had five catches for 71 yards. Jagger Thompson had three catches for 50 yards, and Bryson McFarden had a 24-yard TD grab.
Brady Neal led Wall’s rushing attack with 18 carries for 70 yards and a TD.
On defense, Dylan Sellers had 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks and four QB hurries. He also had a 10-yard TD run.
Other defensive standouts included Slayton Hallmark (nine tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss), Jacob Braden (eight tackles, two tackles for loss), Ben Taylor (two sacks) and Kaden McFarden (five QB hurries).
Wall, which improved to 6-0, will host a 5-1 Merkel team next week to open District 4-3A Division II play.
