SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University will host a special presentation by ASU alumnus Mark Low, owner and CEO of Plano-based Juno Energy LLC, for the 2025 installment of the Accounting Lecture Series presented by Oliver, Rainey & Wojtek on Tuesday, Sept. 23, in ASU's Elta Joyce Murphey Auditorium.
Titled "Unlocking the Power of Financial Leadership," Low's presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The Elta Joyce Murphey Auditorium is located inside the Mayer Administration Building at 2601 W. Ave. N.
With decades of experience in public accounting, private equity and leadership at a global investment firm, Low brings practical insight into what it takes to run a successful business - and most importantly - why financial know-how matters more than ever. He will share real-world lessons from a career spent in helping businesses grow, solve problems and plan for the future.
During his presentation, Low will also break down why financial literacy isn't just for accountants, but for every business owner and professional. Attendees will learn the importance of building a strong team by working with the right advisors, and how significant financial decisions will help a business thrive.
Low graduated summa cum laude from ASU in 1978 with his accounting degree. He worked 24 years as an accountant at Arthur Anderson LLP in Dallas, overseeing its $500-million-a-year North American Oil and Gas Industry Practice. He also served as chief financial officer for several energy companies before founding Juno Energy in 2007, and he served on the board of Junior Achievement of Dallas, promoting economic education in the classroom. He is a member of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, Texas Society of CPAs, Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners, and Dallas Petroleum Club.
In 2018, Low gifted ASU $1 million to establish the Low Family Chair in Accounting in the Norris-Vincent College of Business (NVCOB). He has also endowed scholarships for ASU students and supported university operations as a member of the President's Circle. In 2008, he was the featured speaker for ASU's Wells Fargo Distinguished Lectureship in Business.
Low's ASU presentation is hosted by the NVCOB and sponsored by Oliver, Rainey & Wojtek.
