RICHARDSON, TX — The Angelo State volleyball team, coming off a 2024 campaign that saw them go 32-3 overall, is picked to win the 2025 Lone Star Conference championship by the league's coaches, sports information directors, and media members, the LSC announced this morning.
The Rambelles, who received 933 total points and 30 of a possible 54 first-place votes, are picked ahead of West Texas A&M (919 total points, 18 first-place votes), UT Tyler (859 total points, three first-place votes), Dallas Baptist (803 total points, two first-place votes), and Texas Woman's (738 total points). St. Mary's, Oklahoma Christian, Lubbock Christian, UT Permian Basin and Texas A&M-Kingsville round out the top 10.
The Belles' historic 2024 season saw them win the LSC Tournament, the South Central Regional, and advance to the national semifinals for the first time in program history.
Junior outside hitter Madi Parrish was named the conference's preseason Player of the Year. As a sophomore, Parrish played a vital role in the Belles' success a season ago, recording 498 kills, the fifth-most in a single season in program history, as she earned LSC Tournament MVP and AVCA second-team All-American honors.
Parrish is the first Belle to earn a preseason player of the year award since fellow Boswell High School product Kailyn Gilbreath did so in the 2021 season.
The Belles begin their regional title defense on Sept. 5-6 at the Junell Center when they host the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational, presented by All-American Chevrolet.
