Police Seek Suspect Who Wore ‘Star Wars’ Helmet in Abilene Bank Robbery

 

ABILENE, TX — Police in Abilene are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who wore a “Star Wars” clone trooper helmet while robbing a bank earlier this month.

The robbery happened Aug. 11 at the Western Bank on Buffalo Gap Road. According to Abilene police, the suspect entered the bank wearing dark clothing, gloves, and a white helmet before demanding money from a teller.

Surveillance images released by investigators show the man inside the bank during the robbery. No injuries were reported.

The FBI has been notified, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Abilene Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s identification and arrest. Anyone with information can call (325) 676-8477 or submit tips through the P3 app.
