USDA Opens Low-Interest Loans for Producers Affected by July Storms

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Farmers and ranchers in Tom Green County and surrounding areas can now apply for low-interest physical loss loans following severe storms, straight-line winds and flooding that occurred July 2–7, 2025, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency.

The loans can be used to repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property essential to agricultural operations, including buildings, equipment, perennial crops, fruit and nut trees, livestock and stored crops.

The application deadline is March 25, 2026.

Primary counties eligible for the loans include Burnet, Coke, Concho, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Lampasas, Llano, McCulloch, Mason, Menard, San Saba, Tom Green, Travis and Williamson.

Producers in contiguous counties are also eligible, including Bandera, Bastrop, Bell, Bexar, Blanco, Brown, Caldwell, Coleman, Comal, Coryell, Edwards, Hamilton, Hays, Irion, Lee, Milam, Mills, Mitchell, Nolan, Reagan, Real, Runnels, Schleicher, Sterling and Sutton.
