Eight Aggies Selected in the 2025 MLB Draft

ATLANTA, GA — Texas A&M saw five more players selected on the final day of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft, bringing the Aggies’ total to eight draft picks, the program’s most since 2016.

The five picks on Monday joined Jace LaViolette,  Justin Lamkin, and Kaeden Kent, who were drafted on Day One.

Junior left-hander Myles Patton was the first Aggie off the board Monday, going to the Boston Red Sox with the 208th overall pick in the seventh round. Sophomore Kaiden Wilson followed in the ninth round as the Miami Marlins selected him with the 258th pick, while graduate infielder Wyatt Henseler went three picks later to the Washington Nationals.

The Cleveland Guardians, who selected Texas A&M star outfielder Jace LaViolette in the first round Sunday night, added another Aggie in left-hander Ryan Prager at No. 282 overall in the ninth round. Right-handed pitcher Luke Jackson rounded out the group, going to the Tampa Bay Rays in the 11th round at No. 327 overall.

Texas A&M is the only program in the nation to have three or more players drafted in every MLB Draft since 2001.

Patton made 15 starts in his lone season at A&M, finishing with a 3-5 record and a 5.26 ERA over 77 innings. He struck out 82 while walking just 17 batters. He led the SEC in walks allowed per nine innings (1.99) and ranked sixth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.82).

Wilson made 22 appearances in 2025, striking out 28 in 22 1/3 innings and posting a 4.43 ERA. Over two seasons, he recorded 43 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings.

Henseler, in his lone season at A&M, started all 56 games and batted .319 with 12 home runs, 15 doubles, and 33 RBIs. He scored 48 runs and posted 16 multi-hit games.

Prager, a 2024 All-American, made 15 starts in 2025, compiling a 4-4 record and a 4.21 ERA across 83 1/3 innings. He struck out 73 batters and walked 21. He finished his career with 250 strikeouts in 240 1/3 innings, becoming the 21st Aggie to join the program’s 200-strikeout club.

Jackson made 26 appearances over his career, including two starts. He recorded a 1-0 record with a 5.74 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings.
