San Angelo Man Arrested for Chasing Neighbor With Metal Pipe

SAN ANGELO, TX — A 61-year-old San Angelo man was arrested in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 25, after he allegedly assaulted a neighbor before chasing another with a metal pipe.

Tommy Turner was arrested and booked at 3:08 a.m. on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, along with a parole violation.

According to an arrest affidavit, police were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Pierce Street for a domestic disturbance.

Officers learned that Turner was angry about “trash and a bicycle left in front of his apartment,” which prompted him to confront a neighbor.

Turner reportedly kicked and hit the woman, who cried out for help, which resulted in another neighbor coming to her aid.

Turner then went into his residence and grabbed a metal pipe, which he threatened to use to strike the man who was attempting to help, according to the affidavit.

Turner admitted to police that he chased the man with the pipe and threatened to hurt him.

Turner was released from Tom Green County Jail after posting a $15,000 bond.
