BROWN COUNTY, TX — The body of a woman who had been reported missing since May 27 was found earlier this week in Brown County.

Melanie Pancake, 58, was found in a shallow grave Tuesday near the small community of Zephyr, according to the Brownwood Police Department.

The remains were discovered on a piece of farmland property following a police investigation.

The remains were exhumed and sent to the Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s Office, where a preliminary autopsy identified them.

Authorities said arrests are expected as the investigation continues, but no further information has been released.
