SCURRY COUNTY, TX — A Snyder man was killed Sunday evening in a single-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. Highway 180 during rainy weather, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash occurred at around 7:50 p.m. on May 25, about 0.4 miles west of milepost 350. DPS officials said 54-year-old Roy Edward Bolen Jr. was driving a white 2001 Ford F-250 westbound when he lost control of the vehicle on the wet roadway.

Investigators believe Bolen was traveling at an unsafe speed for the rainy conditions. The truck veered into the south ditch, skidded, and overturned. Bolen, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash. The posted speed limit in the area is 75 mph.
