WATCH: Raging Fire Burns Church to the Ground

ASPERMONT, TX – An electrical fire caused a church in rural West Texas to burn down on Friday. 

According to the First Baptist Church in Aspermont, on June 19, firefighters with the Stonewall County Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call about the FBC being completely engulfed in flames.

Crews arrived in hopes of saving the church but it was deemed a total loss. An excavator was then brought in to keep the fire contained.

The church still had a service on Sunday as it was held in the Family Life Center. The sermon was titled from ashes to beauty. 

The source of the fire has now been determined as electrical problems.
