TYE, TX — A Tye resident has claimed a $1 million top prize in the Texas Lottery’s scratch ticket game Premier Play, lottery officials announced this week.
The winning ticket was purchased at DK #15, located at 319 North St. in Tye. The winner, who elected to remain anonymous, secured the second of 10 top prizes worth $1 million available in the Premier Play game.
The game offers more than $137.5 million in total prizes, with overall odds of winning any prize set at one in 3.55, including break-even prizes.
Since its inception in 1992, the Texas Lottery has generated more than $41.3 billion in revenue for the state and awarded more than $93 billion in prizes. More than $35.3 billion has gone to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education. Additionally, lottery revenues fund state programs including the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance, with more than $277 million contributed to veterans’ causes since 2009.
The Texas Lottery offers several games, including Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto Texas, All or Nothing, Texas Two Step, Pick 3, Daily 4, Cash Five and scratch ticket games.
