SAN ANGELO, TX — The mega-convenience store Buc-ee’s has plans to expand next year with two new Texas locations, one of which will become the closest to San Angelo.
A store is set to open some time next year in Boerne, which is 154 miles away from San Angelo.
Currently, the closest Buc-ee’s to San Angelo is 183 miles away in New Braunfels.
San Marcos is also slated to have a new Buc-ee’s in May 2026
The Texas-based chain of travel centers has built a cult following for its stores that are known for their large size and extensive food selection.
Buc-ee’s is home to 36 locations in Texas and has been expanding nationally to states such as Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia.
However, the western half of Texas has been largely left out, with the exception of a location in Amarillo.

Buc-ee's is not a cult. It is a firmly established, widely recognized mainstream tradition at this point. May your beaver nuggets be plentiful on Bucc-ee puja.
