Roscoe Man Recovering After Another Bee Attack in Area

ROSCOE, TX — A Roscoe man was attacked by a swarm of bees over the weekend in the latest incident in the area involving aggressive bees.

The elderly man was mowing his lawn when he inadvertently disturbed a swarm of bees living in a cistern, according to the Roscoe Volunteer Fire Department.

The man was able to make it inside his home and call for help. He was then transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

A beekeeper has since removed the bees from the property.

Bee activity increases during warmer months, and there have been a handful of bee attacks in the area recently.

An Eastland man was killed by bees during a similar lawnmowing incident, and a Ballinger man was hospitalized after being attacked by bees while he was mowing a lawn.

Three horses in Comanche were also killed recently by bees.

Authorities urge the public to report large swarms and to avoid disturbing hives whenever possible.
