Junction ISD Student Wins Regional Traffic Safety Art Contest

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A Junction ISD seventh grader has taken top honors in the 5th–8th Grade Traffic Safety Art Contest hosted by the Texas Department of Transportation’s San Angelo district.

Out of more than 200 entries submitted from 15 counties, Olivia Harames was named the overall winner for her artwork promoting safe driving.

Four students were also named finalists in the regional competition:

  • Bryce Sullivan, 8th grade, Junction ISD
  • Hadley Harrison, 6th grade, Wall ISD
  • Makenna Sophia Martinez, 6th grade, Junction ISD
  • Isabella Ibarra, 5th grade, Olfen ISD

District Engineer Chris Cowen helped select the finalists, along with more than 200 TxDOT employees who participated in the voting process.

The contest encouraged students to use creativity to raise awareness about traffic safety.
