A tornado warning was issued for the "areas along the Tom Green County panhandle line north into southern Sterling County."

Residents of southern Sterling County were urged to take cover immediately.

An updated alert was sent at 4:40 p.m. for a severe thunderstorm warning for areas in Tom Green County, along with the towns of Robert Lee and Sterling City. The area does not include San Angelo.

Hail larger than baseballs is now possible. Residents of extreme northern Tom Green County around Water Valley north into southern Coke County south of Robert Lee should take cover and avoid windows.

This is the storm that produced the confirmed tornado earlier, but the rotation has weakened, according to the National Weather Service.
