AUSTIN, TX - The Mega Millions jackpot has surged to $825 million after no ticket matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing. The cash option stands at $382.2 million.
The jackpot, which has been growing since September, ranks as the seventh-largest in Mega Millions history. The last significant win occurred in Texas when a ticket claimed an $800 million prize.
While no one hit the jackpot, a Match 5 plus Megaplier winner was drawn in North Carolina, with additional Match 5 winners in California, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.
Mega Millions has not seen a massive pre-Christmas prize since 2013 when winners in California and Georgia split $648 million. The current total, however, still falls short of the top prize of $1.602 billion won in Florida in August 2023.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350, while the odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24. Mega Millions tickets cost $2, with an optional $1 Megaplier.
The next drawing will take place Friday at 11 p.m. ET.
