City of Odessa Announces Water Shutdown and Closures Due to Line Break

ODESSA, TX – The City of Odessa shut down the water plant at around 2 p.m. today following a 12-inch line break on the 1800 block of E. 46th Street.

Officials expect water to be shut off for a few hours, with a boil water notice to follow for at least 24 hours.

Due to the unexpected disruption, the Jurassic Jungle (UTPB) Sprayground will be closed for the day.

However, Sherwood and Woodson Aquatic Centers will open at 4 p.m. as scheduled.

Despite the water infrastructure issues, the “Movies in the Park” event will proceed as planned at McKinney Park tonight. The movie “Elemental” will begin at dusk, a free family-friendly activity.
