Lottery Winner Claims $2 Million Prize

KATY, TX  – Someone in Katy may have woken up Thursday, December 28th with a big smile after winning part of the massive Powerball jackpot.

According to Texas Lottery officials, a  $2 million ticket was sold at the Timewise Food Store off the I-10 Katy Freeway and Grand Parkway.

The lottery ticket matched five of the numbers, but not the elusive Powerball number, therefore Texans still have an opportunity to win the top prize.

On Wednesday night after no one won, the Powerball jackpot climbed to an estimated $760 million

The cash value option is estimated is $382.5 million.

The Texas Lottery encourages players to always keep their tickets in case they score smaller prizes, like the mystery person in Katy.

Wednesday night's winning numbers are 4-11-38-51-68 and the Powerball 5.

Lottery players can expect to catch the next Powerball drawing on Saturday evening, December 30th. The $2 million prize winner and Katy Texas resident has six months to claim their prize, but we may not ever know who that is.
