Snyder Firefighter Loses Young Son to Firearm Accident

SNYDER- A long time firefighter from Snyder lost his teenage son to a firearm accident.

In a release on Facebook, the post reads:

"The Snyder Professional Firefighters Association regrets to inform the public that our first responder family has suffered a tremendous loss. Yesterday, the Hines Family tragically lost their 13-year-old son Cason to an unfortunate firearms accident. Nathan Himes is a staple in our small community and has touched the lives of countless citizens.

Nathan has served the City of Snyder as a member of this department for over a decade and is a second-generation firefighter. The loss of his son is overwhelming to our fire department and to many in the community.

The Snyder Profession Firefighters Association asks that the community pray for Nathan, Keeli, and Gunner Hines and their family as they move through this unimaginable loss, and to pleas refrain from any social media posts at this time.

Memorials can be made to the Hines Family through the Miller Family Funeral Home.

There will be no further information about the incident released to the public. Details on the memorial service will be released when available. We thank the community for the unwavering support that has already been shown."
