Tornado Heavily Damages High School Northwest of Dallas

 

JACKSBORO, TX – Residents in Jacksboro, TX northwest of Dallas say a tornado touched down in the small town damaging several buildings including the local high school.  

Jacksboro High School was heavily damaged by the tornado.  Images from inside the gymnasium show most of the roof is damaged or missing like it was ripped off during the storm.  

According to AccuWeather, a radar-confirmed tornado outside of Jacksboro about 3:45 p.m. Monday. 

No fatalities have been reported in Jacksboro as of Tuesday morning. Officials said at the news conference that four people were rescued from their homes and nine people total were treated at hospitals for injuries.

It was part of a line of storms that snaked through north and central Texas, prompting tornado watches and warnings from Fort Worth to Austin.
