Abilene Police Department Introduces New Mounted Unit

 

ABILENE, TX –– The Abilene Police Department will introduce the new horse-mounted unit during the department's Trunk or Treat this week.

The Mounted Unit will be comprised of four APD officers and their personal horses. The officers and their partners are Officer Watkins & Wyatt, Officer Welch & Gambit, Officer Yargus & CB, and Officer Hill & Argo.

"This is a proud moment for the Department and for our community. It is a chance for these goodwill ambassadors to have positive interactions with our community," said APD Chief Marcus Dudley. "Abilene will see the Mounted Unit at various events throughout the community.”

The Officers and their horses will be located in an area available for the public to interact with.
