AUSTIN, TX – Today, Senator Dawn Buckingham, MD (R-Lakeway) earned the endorsement of the Texas Home School Coalition, an educational advocacy organization that works to protect the rights of parents to homeschool their children in Texas.
“I’m excited to endorse Senator Buckingham in her campaign for Texas Land Commissioner,” said Tim Lambert, President of the Texas Home School Coalition. “Dawn has proven to be a true conservative and a great supporter of homeschooling and families!”
“I’m honored to have the support of the Texas Home School Coalition in this race,” said Buckingham. “Nothing is more important than educating the next generation of Texans, which is why I believe parents should have the freedom to educate their children as they see fit, and the right to choose the learning environment that works best for their family.”
Dr. Dawn Buckingham is an experienced oculoplastic surgeon, an avid hunter, a seventh-generation Texan, and a lifelong conservative Republican.
In 2016, Buckingham was elected to represent District 24 in the Texas Senate, a 17-county region of West Texas and the Texas Hill Country. Dawn and her husband Ed (also a surgeon) have two children in college and reside in Lakeway, Texas.
