West Texas Food Bank Receives Over 20,000 Rolls of Toilet Paper

ODESSA, TX –– On Thursday, the West Texas Food Bank received a substantial donation from The United Supermarkets Family.

According to the food bank, the supermarket chain donated 26,500 rolls of toilet paper –– with a value of more than $90,000.

The donation will help families free up money for other necessities according to Craig Stoker, the media director for the food bank.

“If they don’t have to purchase toilet paper when they go to the store they can put that money back towards food so that they’re putting more food on their table for their families," said Stoker. "So we’re excited to receive things like this. We know it’s a little bit out of the ordinary but when we got the call that they wanted to do it. absolutely! we serve so many for who this will be a blessing for."

United actually donated more than 200,000 rolls of TP to Texas food banks.  Our local food bank received over 9,000 rolls.  Many thanks to United and HEB for all they're doing, both locally and statewide.
