CHRISTOVAL, TX – City Park has been a gathering place in Christoval for many years and is now slated for a huge improvement.
Sitting at the intersections of Loop 110 and Ranch Road 2084, City Park has served as a gathering spot for Civil War veterans in the past and now is known in the area as the site of Christoval’s Toe Nail Trail Days.
Now it’s time to improve the park and your help is needed.
The projected improvements include a 2000 square foot entertainment pavilion, a family pavilion that is nearly 500 square foot, 2 playscapes, 8 picnic gazebos, game courts, vendor spaces, outdoor classrooms, and a ¼ mile walking trail.
The park will be fenced in and also feature a legacy walk. A tax deductible $125 donation gets you a 4”x 8” paver stone and a $250 donation gets an 8”x 8” stone.
During San Angelo Gives, a $140,000 donation was posted and Playland Community Foundation needed to raise $75,000 locally to be eligible to apply for state and local grants. The project is expected to cost $750,000 so more donations are needed.
The project is set to be complete by 2023.
Before you ask, yes, there will be restrooms.
