Mother and Daughters Killed in Tragic House Fire

MIDLAND, TX – A tragic house fire took the life of a Midland woman and her two daughters on Sunday.

According to Newswest9, on August 16 at around 3:40 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 4300 block of West Dengar Dr. for the report of a house fire.

When they arrived the house was already engulfed in flames. Inside of the burning building were two young girls and their mother. They were all three immediately taken to the hospital but later died due to their injuries.

Fire Marshals have determined that the fire was caused by unattended cooking on a kitchen stovetop. The father, who was not home at the time, believes that the fire started a different way.

"My wife laid my daughters down for a nap after setting the self cleaning function on the stove," stated Patrick January the families father "It malfunctioned and caught fire."

Either way it happened the accident caused January to lose so much so quickly.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help suppor the family. It has already raised over $16,000 as of Monday morning. To donate click here
