City of Ballinger Hires Former Sweetwater Police Chief

BALLINGER, TX – Ballinger will be getting a new city manager at the beginning of July. 

According to the City of Ballinger, on June 19, Brian Frieda will be starting his new job as the City Manager of Ballinger. 

Frieda was the previous Police Chief for Sweetwater, TX. Yesterday Frieda announced that he is retiring after 30 years in law enforcement and the last 8 years with the Sweetwater PD. Here is the story: Sweetwater Police Chief Steps Down

According to the Runnels County Register, on January 7, the previous city manager, Tommy Turney, was fired. The termination shook up the Ballinger City Council in which two other members of the council stepped down. For more check out here.
