High Temperatures and Power Outages Affect Over 1000 Homes Tuesday Afternoon

 

ABILENE, TX – The high temperatures caused a widespread power outage in Abilene on Tuesday afternoon.

According to KTXS, at least 1,400 customers were affected in the Sears Park area and three smaller outages caused issues in different areas of the city.

Nearly two hours later all customers had regained power after crews repaired a broken cross arm.

Temperatures reached 107 degrees on Tuesday and it was the third hottest day in May on record.
