Celebrate Texas Independence Day

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – March 2 marks the 184th anniversary of the Texas Declaration of Independence. 

Every year on the second day of March Texans celebrate Texas Independence Day. On March 2, 1836 Texas adopted the Texas Declaration of Independence. This event marked Texas independence from Mexico.

Texas was a sovereign nation for 10 years. The state eventually joined the United States. 

To celebrate Texas independence there are many things you can do. You could visit Fort Concho, watch movies about the Alamo, Bar-B-Que, or just simply just go outside and soak up the great Texas air.
