Participants at San Antonio Live Stock Exposed to Rabies

SAN ANTONIO — Texas’ Department of State Health Services have notified participants of the San Antonio Stock Show that they may have been exposed to rabies.

According to KTXS, on February 29, officials with the state health service department have issued a warning to participants in this years San Antonio Live Stock show stating they may have been exposed to rabies.

The Brangus heifer responsible for the rabies developed the disease during the show. It is possible that the cow may have spread the disease while in the barn.

The cow was only outside the barn while being shown, loaded and then unloaded for transport.
