ABILENE, TX – According to a local news source, new details have emerged from the discrimination settlement former Abilene Police officer Tracy Gates settled with the City of Abilene.
Settlement agreement documents revealed the city agreed to pay out $125,000 to settle the suit filed in July of 2018.
Gates alleged the Abilene Police Department turned her down for a promotion and was repeatedly privy to inappropriate comments. Gates claimed the harassment increased after she filed the discrimination suit with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Gates will reportedly walk away with $83,000 after attorney’s fees.
