LLANO, TX -- Two wildfires currently burning in Llano county have scorched over 2,000 acres and drained firefighters of resources especially fuel.
According to the Llano County Office of Emergency Management, firefighters asked the public to donate 500 gallons of unleaded gasoline overnight so they could begin daylight operations at the fires Thursday morning. As of 8 a.m. Thursday, they announced their fuel needs had been met.
Presently, the size of the fire is estimated at 775 acres with 40% dozer line containment. There was increased fire activity this afternoon due to decreased humidity and increased temperatures. Pockets of unburned vegetation burned this afternoon within the perimeter as well as some spots outside of the containment lines.
